Go2max Newsletter September 2007
“Celia has been training and racing in Germany for the past 2 months and has been continuing to improve and gain experience with bigger and better quality fields. With 6th, 5th and 4th placing in her first races and a 17th overall (8th Pro) in the German Wiesbaden 70.3 she was invited to compete in the Cologne Half Ironman where she finished 6th.This was a great way to finish her last race before she returns to NZ in late September.” (Walter Thorburn, August 2007)
Race report Auckland Half Ironman 2007 Walter Thorburn
“Fleur Bromley took line honors in the 2007 Auckland Half Ironman with Celia Kuch finishing a very close 2nd. Both athletes broke the Auckland Half Ironman record after an epic battle in the 21k run to the finish.
I was confident both athletes would have a great performance, and at some point in the race they would be together. However the fact that only seconds separated them at the finish was closer than I could have predicted.
Celia has been continuing to improve with 1st and 2nd placing at the Panasonic race series and a 2nd at the Rotorua Half Ironman in December finishing the New Zealand summer of racing with the above result of 2nd at the Auckland Half. In August this year she will be entering pro at the German round of the World 70.3 Half Ironman race.” (http://www.go2max.co.nz/updates.asp)
